25th International Conference on the History of Management Thought and Business "Russian Management Thought in the 20th–21st Centuries"
For almost 30 years, Lomonosov Moscow State University has served as a meeting place for Russian and international scholars in the field of management who share an interest in historical and managerial research.
Since 1996, 24 international conferences on the History of Management Thought and Business (HMTB) have been held, each raising pressing questions about the development of managerial ideas and practices.
The 25th anniversary conference will be held on June 30, 2025, and will continue the best traditions of scholarly discussion and academic dialogue.
Conference Theme:
Russian Management Thought in the 20th–21st Centuries
As in previous years, the conference will focus on various materials and documents relevant to historical research, including monographs, articles, conference proceedings, legislative acts, letters, memoirs, diaries, archival records, etc. These sources reflect viewpoints, concepts, theories, and scientific schools that mark the emergence, evolution, and shifts in managerial ideas and applied knowledge in Russia over the 20th and 21st centuries.

What methodological challenges exist in three key areas of historical-managerial studies: History of Management Thought (HMT), History of Management (HM), and Historiography of Historical-Managerial Research (HHMR)?

What are the origins and sources of Russian management thought?

What factors caused changes in economic, organizational, and business management systems in Russia?
