Lecture by R.G. Chandramogan on social responsibility as a business model of Hatsun Agro
On October 24, R.G. Chandramogan, an Indian billionaire, entrepreneur and Chairman of the largest private dairy company in India, Hatsun Agro Product Ltd., gave an open lecture at the Faculty of Economics.
In his speech, R.G. Chandramogan spoke about the dairy business model built on social responsibility and providing an opportunity for thousands of families to continue earning money from farming. The guests of the event learned about Mr. Chandramogan’s entrepreneurial path from starting-up the company in the early 70s to the present day when the company brands Arun, Arokya and Hatsun are leaders in the ice cream, milk and cottage cheese segments among private dairies in India. Much attention was paid to the logistics solutions of the dairy holding allowing 21 participating factories to receive milk from 400 thousand individual farmers in 10 thousand villages.
After the lecture, Mr. Chandramogan answered numerous questions from the audience. For an hour, students, professors and guests of the faculty have been asking the speaker about the details of an entrepreneur’s life path, the dairy industry and doing business in India, running own business, secrets of success and much more.
