About us

Halcyon Portfolio Management is an investment management company with over $600m in assets under management. Our specialization is public equities in Russia, other former Soviet Union and Eastern European countries, as well as sustainable energy. Halcyon regularly offers three-month internship programs for students interested in obtaining practical knowledge. Many of our former interns have built successful careers in the field of finance and investments, and several have joined our team.

Responsibilities of an intern: 

• Researching various sectors and companies in our investable universe

• Gathering and analysing industry and company-specific data

• Building financial models (guidance will be provided as well as colleagues’ assistance)

• Applying valuation approaches and making investment recommendation

• Presenting findings to the Investment Committee

Who should apply and what qualities we are seeking in a candidate: 

• Last year students or recent graduates with economics / finance / natural sciences / engineering major

• Hard-working, self-driving

• Strong analytical skills

• Not afraid of number-crunching

• Proficient user of Excel, Word and Power Point

• Good English skills: Upper Intermediate or above

• Interest in financial markets

• Financial experience is not required
