Description of duties

The successful candidate will work under technical guidance of the Senior Employment Specialist in Moscow.
• Gather, compile information and support research related to employment policies in the countries covered by the office, including statistical analysis, a review of existing research in topics such as employment policies and labour market programmes, youth employment, public employment services, skills development, and in relation to future of work, gender equality, green transition and other topics.
• Take notes during important events and draft reports.
• Assist in the preparation of various documentation and reports of meetings and documents related to the work on (youth) employment promotion carried out in the sub-region;
• Engage in knowledge and information management activities as development of tools, products, methodologies and programmes on employment promotion, systematising existing information by date, topic and country.
• Assist in the translation of technical and administrative documents
• Assist in the organization of conferences, workshops, forums or other collaborative events in the context of (youth) employment promotion;
• Draft knowledge stories/good practices on (youth) employment promotion in the countries covered by the ILO Office in Moscow.
• Perform other tasks as requested by the supervisor.

Required profile
 
Education

Area of studies: economics, international relations, labour relations, international development, business administration, sociology, social sciences or other related field.

Applicant should currently follow a course of study (last year of Master degree or above), or have completed studies within 12 months prior to this application.

Experience

Some relevant work or internship-related experience is an advantage. Studies or work experience in one or more of the following fields would be an advantage: employment policies and labour market programmes, youth employment promotion, labour economics, youth entrepreneurship, improving working conditions, livelihood promotion, gender mainstreaming, green transition.

Languages

Strong oral and written proficiency in English and Russian is essential, with a high standard of writing skills in both languages being particularly important. If shortlisted, the candidate's writing ability will be verified through a written test.
