XXII International Conference on the History of Management Thought and Business «Development of views on regional economic management in the countries of the world: history and modernity»

Dear colleagues!

It has become a tradition for Russian and foreign theorists and practitioners of management to take part in annual international conferences on the History of Management Thought and Businesses (HMT&B), held by the Lomonosov Moscow State University in order to discuss various important issues in Management.

Over the years, 21 conferences have been held on the following topics:

«Measurability in the Management of Social Objects: yesterday, today, tomorrow" (2021)

On June 30 and July 1-2, 2022, the Faculty of Economics of Moscow State University plans to hold the next, already 22nd international conference on the History of Management Thought and Business. We have never discussed the topic: "Development of views on regional economic management in the countries of the world: history and modernity." However, the problems of managing the economies of regions in the countries of the world have always been, exist and will exist if there are two or more regions in a particular country (states, lands, municipalities, etc.) that require taking into account the interests of all regions of a given country and a reasonable and fair formation and the distribution of resources (human, financial, technical, informational, etc.) in the regions to achieve the goals set for the country and its regions.

Still adhering to our formula: “Any New is a New combination of the Old in New conditions!”, we encourage colleagues to take part in the HMT-2022 conference and to share new knowledge and experience in the field of the Conference topic with illustrations of experiments that have been held in the History of Management, and with the results and evaluations of similar studies in the History of Managerial Thought.

Hence, a number of questions formulated below, to which we expect answers at the upcoming HMT&B-2022 conference in the context of "Management of economy of the regions in different countries of the world in different specific historical periods":

  1. How and Why did the ideas and concepts of the system and complex (aspect) approaches in the management of regional economies arise and develop?
  2. How were the aspect characteristics of management manifested and taken into account (economic, political, legal, demographic, ecological, etc.) at different stages of the life cycle of ideas and views on the management of regional economies?
  3. How and Why did the views on the relationship of the participants (actors) in the processes of managing the regional economies change?
  4. What are the factors, reasons and features of the concepts of anti-crisis management of regional economies?
  5. How and Why did the views on the provision of management processes of regional economies with various kinds of resources change?
  6. How was the specifics of the sectoral approach reflected in the concepts of regional economic management?
  7. How and Why did the reasons for the differentiation of management objects and powers between the federal and regional levels of regional economic management change?
  8. How and Why did the views on the staffing of the processes of managing the economy of the regions change?
  9. Isn't the Russian training program "Leaders of Russia" one of the means of ensuring strategic management programs for the sustainable development of Russian regions?
  10. Were there similar programs in other countries around the world? And if “Yes”, then what are the ideas for the formation of competencies of future regional managers?
  11. Who and How trained managers in regional economy management in different countries of the world in different specific historical periods?
  12. How and in What “languages” (economic, political, demographic, ecological, socio-cultural, ethical, etc.) were the results of managing conflict and / or crisis situations measured and evaluated in the process of managing regional economies?
