The Faculty of Economics at Lomonosov Moscow State University was established in 1941. It’s one of the oldest and the leading economics faculties in Russia.

In the early 1990-s a radical transformation of Russian society brought up the need for a serious renovation of economic education. During this dynamic and challenging times the Faculty of Economics had succeeded in transforming teaching process and structure of education towards the needs of market economy and international standards of economic education. The Faculty of Economics was the first in Russia to introduce bachelor and master programs instead of 5-year program. Our International Business master program was one of the first master programs opened in Russia.

Today Faculty of Economics has about 2500 students at bachelor, master and PhD levels, around 2000 students at MBA and other professional training programs. Our student community is very diverse, about 14% of students are international students from 23 countries so as our alumni community. Our Faculty of Economics focuses on internationalization of education, the network of our international partners consists of 45 universities.

Our academic staff include some of the Russia's distinguished economists, they undertake innovative and applied research as well as provide advice to various Russian government bodies.   The results of their research are being publised in highly ranked Russian and international journals.

The Faculty of Economics is a very dynamic faculty, which undertakes continuous improvements to face recent challenges.
