Data Distribution Service

Рус

Fast and reliable data delivery across distributed systems

The Data Distribution Service (DDS) is an open middleware standard, developed by the Object Management Group to improve data connectivity in large-scale distributed systems.

RTPS (Real-Time Publish-Subscribe) is a network communication protocol that was designed to support DDS implementations by ensuring fault-tolerant and secure data exchange. With massive data loads being processed by edge clusters in real time, the RTPS protocol is used to achieve low-latency in high-performance, mission-critical applications, such as autonomous vehicles, robotics and medical devices. RTPS was specifically developed to meet the unique requirements defined by the industrial automation community. It has a number of core features that help enable reliable publish-subscribe communications for real-time applications:

For more information on RTPS please read the Real-time Publish-Subscribe Protocol (RTPS)/DDS Interoperability Wire Protocol Specification.
